PET AURA PORTRAIT SESSIONS
These private studio sessions are offered exclusively at our studio in Detroit, Michigan and on occasion at specified pet only pop ups and events.
These pet only sessions are quite different than our sessions with humans, so please read through the information below to see if this will be a good fit for your furry family member.

At this time, we are only taking sessions with dogs.
PET SESSIONS: WHAT TO EXPECT
We utilize a rare analog Pet Sensor designed specifically to pick up the energy field of dogs and cats, that was created by a German Engineer as an add on to the Legacy Packfilm Auracam created by Guy Coggins. Our founder Eileen of AURA AURA, has found a way for this exclusive technology to work with our NextGen Instax Auracam, making pet aura photos more accessible. From our understanding, we have the only pet sensor of it’s kind, in existence that is still working, which makes the pet aura photo sessions we offer incredibly special.
The hand sensors we use for regular human aura portraits do not actually depict a pet’s true aura as it was designed specifically for humans. The hand sensors were created to pick up on the energy field of human beings only, which is why pet aura photography requires special equipment. For this reason we also do not photograph humans and pets together.
Your pet must be able to sit still for approx. 5-10 seconds with their two front paws on a metal plate for each image shot. This is what is reading your pet’s energy and is a crucial part of this process. A bright light will also be shining on them, but no flash! You will be placed right next to your pet during their session, and will be involved in the process of helping them stay comfortable and posed in position if needed.
While we understand when a pet has 2 parents or owners, both most likely want to come to the session. However, in our experience, it is typically best if only 1 owner comes to the session, as the second owner often times becomes a distraction - especially if your pet tends to be playful which can make the session process difficult as your pet becomes over-stimulated in a new environment. This ultimately is your personal choice, just know that we want to make you aware prior to booking, what our best practices are, based on experience with other clients and previous sessions.
Depending on the size of your pet, they will either be posed on the pet sensor plate on a plush, cozy rug on the ground, or will be placed on a sturdy 2’ x 2’ podium approx. 1.5 feet off the ground. The metal plate is roughly the size of a laptop computer, and fits the two front paws of all dogs and cats.
Prior to your pet’s session, please make sure that your pet is groomed to your liking, nails trimmed, and that any potty breaks are taken prior to arrival. We recommend taking your dog on a short walk prior to their photo session, as it is important we prevent any accidents from occurring when ever possible.
